In three impactful cycles, Outright International’s LBQ Connect program has reached over 300 LBQ activists from 90 countries. With our support, grantees have led projects advancing sexual health, digital entrepreneurship, safe spaces, and more.

Advanced sex-positive health education for LBQ women & created safe feminist spaces.
Côte d’Ivoire | 2023–2024
Trained 10 LBQ women in e-commerce & digital innovation to enhance economic independence.

Researched the socioeconomic status of 120 LBQ/GNC people to inform advocacy & policy.
Kenya | 2022–2023
Mobilized HIV-positive LBQ individuals in Kisumu County through support groups and education to challenge HIV invisibility and build a strong social support network.

Conducted a needs assessment for LBQ women to inform future advocacy efforts, supported through LBQ Connect.
Global | 2024
Launched a 6-episode podcast spotlighting the parenting journeys of LBQ activists worldwide, amplifying their stories, needs, and families—including a special feature with LesbianGlobal co-founders on LBQ philanthropy.

LesbianGlobal Economic Empowerment Fund
In 2026, we launched the first pilot of this fund in partnership with OutRight International, working through trusted intermediaries to reach LBQ+ women leaders, entrepreneurs, and community-rooted initiatives. This pilot allows us to test, learn, and refine a funding model that is accountable, effective, and grounded in local realities.
Our goal is to establish additional Economic Empowerment Funds with other intermediaries over time—expanding reach while maintaining focus on LBQ+ women in the Global South.
What the Fund Supports
Through this fund, we provide the following:

Direct funding for LBQ+ women-led businesses, social enterprises, and grassroots initiatives

Support for entrepreneurship, job creation, and financial independence.

Resources to address systemic barriers that block access to capital.

Sustainable models that strengthen long-term economic resilience.
This work is part of a broader economic empowerment strategy that includes research, data, and capacity-building—ensuring LBQ+ women’s economic realities are recognized and prioritized.

$182 Million Secured for LGBTI Movements with LesbianGlobal as a Founding Member
In the face of an anti-rights backlash, shrinking aid, and shifting philanthropic priorities, the Fund Our Futures campaign has achieved an extraordinary milestone, securing $182 million in new funding for LGBTI movements worldwide.
From the beginning, LesbianGlobal has been part of this vision as a founding member and active contributor to the campaign’s goal to channel $150 million into LBQ+ women, feminist, and trans-led organizing. Together with our allies, we’ve helped push this movement beyond expectations.
While we continue working toward our $1 million commitment, we’re also investing in what matters most—amplifying underrepresented voices, strengthening grassroots groups, and pushing for funding that is inclusive, intersectional, and community-led.
