Festival of Queer and Feminist Culture Smoqua

Smoqua is a combination of art and activism, a festival that gathers artists and activists from Croatia and abroad with the aim of promoting queer and feminist culture and questioning social prejudices and “inviting” people to reflect on them. In three days of mingling and open dialogue, the audience can feel and “dive” into queer and feminist culture through exhibitions, panel discussions and talks, workshops, theater plays, research presentations, drag shows, performances, games, and other interactive content. The ninth edition of Smoqua will take place from October 9 to 11, 2025, at several vibrant locations in the City That Flows (Rijeka, Croatia). Under the theme "Together(ness)," the audience will have the opportunity to experience queer and feminist culture at around 20 diverse events with dozens of artists, activists, collectives, and organizations.
